Theory Section

The course is structured into six modules covering the theoretical knowledge necessary for your training as a diver

You’ll learn about the associated risks and effective risk management techniques, as well as the importance of proper dive planning.

Additionally, these modules cover other essential knowledge areas that not only enhance your safety underwater but also provide you with the confidence and control needed to fully enjoy each dive in comfort and relaxation.

Confined water sessions

Whether it’s in a pool or the ocean, within depths of 5 meters, we’ll create a safe and controlled setting for you, ensuring you feel secure and can learn comfortably

Here, we teach you a series of fundamental skills that will enable you to master scuba equipment, control your buoyancy, resolve incidents, and manage emergencies effectively.

Starting from assembling gear on dry ground to executing an emergency ascent, including regulator recovering and mask clearing techniques

You’ll gain skills that are easy to learn and master, building your confidence in diving, ensuring each dive is both rewarding and safe

Open water dives

4 dives in the sea, the first 2 up to a depth of 12 meters and the last 2 up to 18 meters

During these dives, you’ll apply all your skills and the techniques learned in confined waters, while also exploring the seabed in an enriching and rewarding adventure

  • Minimum age requirement: 10 years old
  • Medical questionnaire provided at the center. (A medical certificate is necessary only if any of the questions in the questionnaire are answered ‘yes’)

Flexibility for Your Changing Plans

We know that plans can change, which is why our reservation policy is incredibly flexible.
 If you book your Open Water Diver course and later find you can’t attend on the chosen date, you can easily reschedule at no extra cost or cancel your booking up to 24 hours in advance.
Please note that the €60 fee for the SSI digital study kit is non-refundable. However, this kit doesn’t expire, so you can use it at Dive Center Menorca or any SSI center in the future.
Our aim is to ensure you have a stress-free learning experience.
We’ll be with you every step of the way to your diving certification, making sure you enjoy your time with us to the fullest.

No need to worry, the prerequisites are very simple…

You only need to be at least 10 years old and know how to swim well enough not to drown in a kiddie pool.

It’s as easy as a summer day at the beach.

No. 

You just have to fill out a questionnaire with health-related questions. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, then you’ll need a medical certificate.

Not at all. 

Once you book, you’ll have access to the course theory through the MySSI app. 

There, you’ll find ALL the course theory, knowledge reviews, and the exam, so you can study at your own pace and wherever you want. 

If you have any questions, you can call or write to us, or resolve them when you come to the dive center.

We provide everything you need for diving, but don’t forget to bring:

  • Your swimsuit.
  • A towel, to dry off after your dive.
  • And some spare clothes, so you don’t look like you’ve just survived a shipwreck.

No. 

You should wait 12 hours before flying after a single dive, and at least 18 hours if you complete two dives. 

We recommend starting your Open Water course at the beginning of your vacation. 

That way, if you catch the diving bug, you’ll have plenty of time to dive even more!

  • You’ll be able to dive with a buddy of the same or higher certification, enjoying complete autonomy. Like two shrimp in a paella.
  • With your certification, the underwater world is your playground. You can explore any part of the planet with ease.
  • You’ll have the freedom to plan your own dives.
  • And remember, the maximum depth allowed is 18 meters, so you won’t accidentally venture too deep.

Yes. Book it as soon as possible because we have limited spots and need to know the number of reservations to plan everything in advance.
