Discover the essential prerequisites needed for joining the SSI Advanced Adventurer program.

  • To enroll in the SSI Advanced Adventurer program, you must be at least 10 years old, except for the Deep Diving specialty, which requires a minimum age of 15.
  • You need to hold an Open Water certification from any organization (whether it’s SSI, PADI, ACUC, etc.).
  • Swimming proficiency is a requirement.
  • You’ll be required to complete a medical questionnaire, which we can provide at the dive center or send to you. If you answer “yes” to any question, you’ll need to bring a medical certificate.

We understand that plans can change, which is why our reservation policy is designed to be as flexible as possible.

If you book your Open Water Diver course but find you can’t attend on your chosen date, you’re welcome to reschedule at no additional cost or cancel your booking up to 24 hours in advance.

It’s important to note that the €60 fee for the SSI digital study kit is non-refundable. However, the kit never expires, allowing you to use it at Dive Center Menorca or any other SSI center in the future.

  • Being 10 years old, or 15 if you choose the deep diving speciality.

Don’t worry.

You just need to complete a medical questionnaire with health-related questions. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, then a medical certificate is required.

Once you book the course, you’ll get access to the MySSI app, where you’ll find all the theory for the course. You’ll have access to all available specialities, each with its theory portion and knowledge reviews. You only need to select five of them, although you can read through as many as you’d like.

Feel free to call us if you need assistance or have any questions. However, once you come to complete the course in Menorca, we can address any queries you may have.

Once you’ve completed all the theory and knowledge reviews, you just need to come to Menorca to do the five dives corresponding to the specialities you’ve chosen.

While we take care of your diving gear, make sure to bring:

  • Your swimsuit.
  • A towel for drying off post-dive adventures.
  • Spare clothes to ensure you’re the most stylish diver in town.

You need to wait 12 hours before flying after a single dive and a minimum of 18 hours after multiple dives. 

We recommend scheduling your Advanced Adventurer course at the beginning of your holiday in case you decide to do more diving.

  • With your SSI Advanced Adventurer certification, you are entitled to dive autonomously with a buddy who is at least Open Water certified, enjoying peaceful dives in good company.
  • Armed with your certification, you can venture to any remote island on the planet for diving, provided there’s a dive centre or dive boat available. You can plan your own dives with your dive buddy.
  • You’re permitted to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters if you’ve completed the deep diving immersion during your course.

It’s advisable to book as soon as possible because spaces fill up quickly, and we need to know how many reservations we have in order to plan everything in advance and make it as convenient as possible for everyone.

Don’t worry, if you’re unable to come, we can change your reservation to another time or day, or refund 100% of your booking.
