Achieving the SSI Divemaster certification entails completing both the SSI Science of Diving specialty and the SSI Dive Guide course.

But don’t worry, because both programs are included in your Divemaster training.

SSI Science of Diving Specialty

This course teaches you everything you need to know about dive theory to become a diving professional:

  • Physics of Diving: Learn how gases behave under pressure and at different depths.
  • Physiology of Diving: Discover the effects of pressure on the human body and learn to adjust to depth changes.
  • Underwater Environment: Explore the fascinating underwater world from a scientific perspective, learning about marine life and its adaptation to the aquatic environment.
  • Decompression Theory: Obtain the essential understanding to plan dives safely and mitigate pressure-related health risks.
  • Diving Equipment: Understand its operation and how to keep it in top condition.

This course is entirely theoretical and can be done online using the My SSI App, at your convenience, from anywhere.

However, we recommend completing all the knowledge development before arriving at the diving center so you can focus only on the other aspects of the divemaster course once you’re here.

Yes, certainly!

You can undertake the SSI Science of Diving and Dive Guide certifications separately.

You can study the theory at home using the My SSI app. As for the Dive Guide course, you’ll need to attend the center for the practical and water components.

For the SSI Divemaster program, you have the option to complete all three certifications together.

However, if you already hold the Science of Diving and/or Dive Guide certifications, you’re welcome to join us to complete the Divemaster component.

The Divemaster course can be completed in just 2 weeks. However, to ensure a comprehensive and enriching experience, we advise setting aside 4 to 6 weeks.

This way, you’ll have enough time to develop as a Divemaster and make the most out of your training.

It means that once you meet the requirements and obtain the certifications, you need to pay the SSI fees to be able to work at a dive center.

After completing your Divemaster course with us, we’ll provide you with the complete SSI application form. Once SSI approves your application, you’ll only need to pay them directly for the Divemaster application fee.

We’re here to assist you throughout the entire process!

No. When you sign up for any of the three certifications, you’ll receive access to the digital study kit containing all the manuals via the My SSI app.

This means you can study at your own pace, whenever and wherever you want. You only need to come to the center to complete the practical portion.

Not necessarily. You can rent the equipment here at the dive center because it’s not included.

However, we recommend considering owning your own gear if you plan to pursue a career in diving. This will provide you with greater comfort and safety.

You can gradually acquire your own equipment.

Yes.

We recommend booking as soon as possible since spaces fill up quickly.

We need to have an idea of how many people are booking in order to plan ahead and ensure everything is as comfortable as possible for everyone.

Don’t worry if something unexpected comes up and you can’t make it on the scheduled date. We can reschedule your booking for another day or time that suits you better, or if you prefer, we’ll refund 100% of your reservation.
